Mission Committee

Aware of both its responsibilities to the wider world and the benefits of cross-cultural fellowship, St Michael’s has had a strong history of being involved in world mission.

Church Planting in Asia and helping with Bible translation in Africa was the work of some of our recent Partners. Current Partners are serving the people of Asia and the Far East in Medical Education, Engineering and Teaching and our longest serving Partner is supporting other workers by heading up a Member Care network.

We are fortunate to have long-term links with friends in Church Work in Argentina and over the years short-term workers have been assisted to serve in various ways across the globe.

Our Partners are financially supported by individual church members but also each year the PCC allocates further funds of general support. In addition, at the end of every year the PCC makes a number of grants towards selected local, national and international good causes.

The mission committee is responsible to the PCC for all this and more; so it is also the arm of the church that can always be approached if a member of St Michael’s senses that there is work to be done that reaches beyond the parish boundary.
