Welcome to St Michael’s which is a lively, thriving, evangelical Anglican parish on the edge of the Newton estate, about one mile from the centre of Chester.

Our aim as a church is summed up in our Mission Statement:
Growing God's community

- for others

        Through Worship, Prayer, Learning, Fellowship
        Serving & Mission

                                                        to God's Glory

The church has a family atmosphere and welcomes children and young people. Most of the church family gathers each Sunday at 10am for the major worship service of the week. Music is led by a worship group and is both traditional and contemporary: we use Songs of Fellowship, New Wine songs & Hymns for Today's Church. Worship is informal and relaxed in style and along with our teaching programme, we seek to engage effectively in today's world.

St Michael's church centre in Devon Road is a modern multi-purpose building with hall and rooms attached. It is used throughout the week for a whole variety of activities.  (For church centre booking enquiries contact Mary Webster via the Church Office).

The church-plant congregation of St Michaels @ Newton School serves the west end of the parish. It meets at 10am on Sundays in Newton School, Kingsway West.

A community café, Kings Way, is open in the corner of the parade of shops at the heart of Newton. It is a collaborative venture with Kingsway Chapel. The Café opens every weekday and Saturday mornings, and at other times as needed.

The vicar of St Michaels is Revd Bob Toan and the curate is Revd Tony Mitchell. The Church Secretary is Jackie Hockley and the Book-keeper is Jane Kite.

Our neighbouring church, Christ Church, Newtown, has recently been connected to St Michael's. Its Priest-in-Charge is Revd Bob Toan, and its resident Curate-in-Charge is Revd Andrew Buchanan, who is also part-time chaplain at nearby Chester College.
